B. Peripheral Treatment / Defocus Zone

The surrounding outer area extending from a diameter of 9 mm up to 46 mm (9 mm – 46 mm defocus area), It consists of 665 micro-sized lenses (Microlenses) arranged geometrically into 11 concentric rings with a constant spacing of 1.5 mm (1.5 mm ring space) between them.

The Physics of Myopic Defocus: When the child looks through the periphery of the lens, these microlenses deliberately project peripheral light rays in front of the peripheral retina rather than behind it. This creates a powerful therapeutic defocus effect of +4.00 diopters (4.0D defocus amount).

Stopping Eye Growth: Standard, single-vision glasses focus peripheral light behind the retina, which sends a biological signal to the brain that the eye is “too short,” triggering it to elongate (worsening myopia). By shifting that peripheral light in front of the retina, this design sends a “stop growing” biological signal to the eye, effectively slowing down axial elongation (the physical lengthening of the eyeball) by 50% to 70%.
